Lawn Aeration

October 15th, 2010

Recently people have been asking me what lawn aeration is and what the benefits are.  Simply put, your lawn needs to breathe and eat! Aeration is a way to help your lawn breathe by providing better airflow to the soil and eat by helping your lawn take in fertilizer. Aeration helps to keep your lawn healthy! Some of the benefits include:

·         Air can get to the soil and the roots of your grass helping it breathe

·         Fertilizer and nutrients are helped reach the root system

·         Improves water intake and helps water reach the root system

·         Helps to break up thatch

·         Reduces water run off

·         Helps strengthen and improve root system

·         Improves the durability of your lawn!

As you can see there are many benefits of aerating your lawn. This is a great time of year to do aeration on your lawn. It will help your lawn absorb the fertilizer and strengthen it before the cold winter months! Call me today to talk about your yard and how aeration could help your lawn!

Fall Clean-Ups!

October 8th, 2010

“October’s the month, when the smallest breeze, gives us a shower, of autum leaves! Bonfires and pumpkins, leaves sailing down - October is red, and golden and brown!”

I hope everyone has been taken sometime to enjoy the beautiful leaves changing colors. As you know these leaves are also falling onto you nice lawn. That means our fall clean-ups are quickly approaching. Fall clean-ups are vital if you want a healthy lawn in the spring! Here are a few reasons why…

Picking up leaves: A thick layer of leaves actually blocks out the light and air, smothering your lawn.

Importance of a good last mow: If you lawn is left too long, it may trap in moisture and develop diseases, which is not fun to deal with in the spring.

Prepare lawn with fertilizer: Strengthen your lawn before the cold winter to have it looking beautiful in the spring.

We all want a beautiful lawn to enjoy in the spring, so we must do these important steps in the fall. If you have any questions about fall clean-ups or are interested and not already signed up, please give us a call! 651-274-1444
